Colorectal cancer rates are decreasing among older adults due to screening, but rising among those younger than age 50. Weill Cornell Medical College research showed young-onset colorectal cancer was more likely in men and in blacks and Hispanics than in women and whites, and tended to present at more advanced stages when compared with old-onset cancer.
